Default Terminated because of my living location-please read.

I was hired by a very well known company which makes cereals on June 30, 2006. 2 1/2 months of this company leading me to believe that they were creating a position for me, finally materialized. I started on July 17th as my first day of work. I met with my district manager who had interviewed me and who was the one who kept in contact with me over the 2 1/2 months telling me not to give up on this company and that a position was going to open soon. I really wanted to work for this company and I turned down 1 offer during this time in the hopes that this would work out.
On the first day of work, my manager asked me where i was going to live. He knew that i had just relocated from California to Washington and that i was temporarily living in an apt in a city for 3 months. When i told him that i had bought a house, he told me that i would probably have problems with the company because they required me to live in the city of my designated territory.
4 days later, without any warning, i'm called by my manager at 8:30pm and told that I'm fired based on my future living situation.

His reasoning states that he told me prior to taking this job that I had to live in the city they were talking about. Mind you, where i bought my house and where they desire me to live is only a 40 minute drive. When i told him that i had never been told this, nor had this been discussed in the interview nor was it in the job description, he basically said I was a liar.
Washington is an at will state where employers can fire you for any reason, but there is something ethically wrong here and I can't believe they can get a way with this.
I gave up an offer in reliance of this position. I bought a house in reliance of this job and purchased this home in a location i normally wouldn't have considred to be closer to my territory. I was never told that I had to live in their designated city. And to top it off, i have accounts in multiple cities. NOt just in the city they want me to live.

I know this isn't wrongful termination, but is there any type of legal recourse i can take? I'm out of a job not based on performance and this is just not fair nor is it right and I want to hold them accountable.
I thought i would never come to say this, but the more i think about it, it just makes no sense. I feel as if they let me go because I'm asian.

Anyone have any thoughts?
