Default Wrongful Termination

Good Day,

Yesterday I received my Performance Evaluation form the company where I was employed. I disagreed and signed the evaluation form stating I Disagree with the items. I started working for this company as a temp through an agency.This is an email which I send to the Director of Human Resources last night after my evaluation.

Today (05/18/06) I had my first upward evaluation at Withum Smith & Brown (WSB) in Princeton, and I have to say I was shocked at the comments I received from the partners who participated. At this junsture the following issues were brought to my attention;

1). My communications skills were question on the basis I am not communicating effectively with the partners and the employees'. I do make every attempt to locate and advised both ALL the partners and employees' of incoming telephone calls. But if a partner and/or an employee does not acknowledge my attempts and repeated attempts to have them page over the intercom to adviced them of a telephone call, this is out of my control. This just leads me to beliveve the party is not availble or tied up on other comapny matters, therefore I proceed to place the telephone call in voicemail for the person.

2). Another subject which was also just addressed for the very first time, I am being ungracious to the clients over the phone. The only time which I do recall being ungracious to a client was during the tax season when a client called and I was not able to locate the partner (Mr. Bill Newman), the client became very agitated and commenced making ill-mannered comments towards me, I told (The Client) I was not going to put up with his telephone ill-mannered statements and then hung up. The client called back AGAIN and commence his ill-mannered comments, I just let the client continue making his nasty comments as I proceeded to transfer him to Mr. Newman's voicemail. I adviced the partner Mr. Newman, in addition I adviced Julie Zottman about this issue. Unqequivocally, I come to Withum Smith and Brown to perform my duties but I do not come WSM to be subjected to rude or nasty clients. Gramted I do understand this is a people business and with out them there would be no WSM but these type of behavior should not be welcomed in WSM.

3). Originally when I was brought on board as a temporary employee I was not familiar with ALL the names of the employees at WSB. Again, since I was a new employee had to familiarize myself with the employees, procedures and culture of WSB therefore, I could not become acquainted with the employees names very quickly. I believe this should have been addressed at this time. This is the reason why my temporary assignment was ended.

Nontheless, I was asked to come back to WSM as a Full-Time Withum Smith and Brown employee. Apparently the firm saw I can perform the duties in a productive manner and was an assest. I do believe if there were issues with my job performnance then they should have been addressed at the moment it occured by my immediate supervisor. Not let them pile up and then be bombarded with this issues.

I go to WSM to perform my job duties on a daily basis and this it all. I do not choose to associate with anyone (Partners/Employees) so it may not be misconstrued. I am not anti-sociable person, but I was hired to perform a job and this is all. With this being said, I will not in any way shape or form bring myself to act in any in-appropiate manner to be "Just to be Liked" by any partner.

Today 5/19/2006 I was terminated

Your post has nothing to do with the Whistle Blowers Protection Act. Everything you detailed has to do with internal issue and not with any laws or regulations governed by the act. Although the suituation was not handled well, nothing illegal has taken place.

What do you feel was the underlying reason for your termination? Age, race etc?
