My employment was terminated and based on what my employer had written on the seaperation notice, wrongfully. I applied for unemployment benefits which were allowed by the DOL. The employer appealed this decision and I recently attended an in person hearing at the DOL with the GM and Regional HR manager from the company. I was notified this past week that my benefits were affirmed. Based on these results and other documentation, do I have a case and should I be contacting an attorney? The employer has till May 11,2006 to file an appeal with the review board. Based on the employers input at the hearing I don't feel they will go any further but I, really want to go forward with this. The way the management in this facility has treated me and the way they treat other employees is unacceptable. They pratice prejudice, discremination, code of ethic violations and favoritisim which all have been communiticated to facility management and corporate headquarters. This potential case goes a lot further than what you see in this thread.
