Fired Immediately after reporting previous sexual harassment.
I believe I have a very strong case against my previous employer for being wrongfully terminated. For the duration of my employment I had heard about continuous acts of sexual harassment committed by a co-worker to other female co-workers. In fear of being terminated I remained silent about this issue. Only until I received a complaint that the habitual harasser had made a guest at the business feel uncomfortable did I proceed to report to the supervisor(owner).
I told him "This employee has been sexually harassing female employees and probably was harassing this guest." It was the only right presumption to have especially after all the lewd conduct and strange activity from the said harasser.
I also feel That he was acting out of racial favoritism because I am Caucasian. My employer is a middle aged man from India and the harasser was also from India. My employer always seemed to be Xenophobic.
He immediately terminated me, and said I had been sleeping on the job.
I reported to the EEOC, and have completed a charge of discrimination.
My employer has a lawyer. Do I need legal counsel? I know that I don't have any idea how to present my case.
I live in missouri.
