Default Employer suing me?

I was a video editor for a very abusive owner of a small advertising company. While there for 8 months, I edited many, many commercial spots. When I started there, I brought in my own computer for editing because his was going to take a while to get in, and utilized many of my own software applications. When he finally got his system in, he was well aware that I installed several applications & filters (legally) and utilized one of my own portable drives containing tons of clips & images that I owned. I used this drive to work at home when he needed me to, etc. basically, it was my toolkit -- kind of like a mechanic that carries his own tools.

Anyway, after taking enough of his verbal and mental abuse, I turned in notice two weeks ago -- and he was furious. I gave him a printed out list of applications that he would have to purchase in order to replace the ones I had been using and owned. He thought I would leave them on there! At one point, he called me an f**king a**hole in front of other employees. This guy has severe issues with temper, and has gone through over 20 employees in a little over 2 years. (Out of an office of 5!)

Anyway, he let me go after one week -- thus losing his chance for me to train the incoming editor. He is now upset that I uninstalled my personally owned applications and took home my personally owned drive. He says it was illegal for me to uninstall my software, and that he owns all clips/graphics that I used in his commercials.

That is like saying if you hire a painter, you own all the paint and brushes he used to make the final product.

He still has ALL commercials that I edited in full resolution, and all project files. He just does not apparently have all the stuff that I owned, and cannot easily re-edit work that I did.

I am hearing from other employees that he has an officer coming in today to file a police report -- and I believe he is planning on suing me. Does he have a leg to stand on? What would he sue me for?
