| After over 12 years at UPS I, along with 4 others, were terminated on the spot. We complained for lack of proper equipment to work outside at nights in the hub. We had no supervisor and covered each other when we completed our work with our timecards. When approached by the "Firing Squad" I confessed my wrongdoing. I was given the option to resign to get a good reference, the union shop steward also encouraged it, or be terminated. I resigned but received a letter from UPS saying that I stated I would resign but they terminated me for dishonesty. Does this mean I will not get unemployment? I did file and a phone interview is coming up soon. I'm a single father with two small children and a mother dependent on me. This was the only job I ever had since leaving school. I had hoped that by telling the truth, I would have been suspended but I also took the blame for some of the others who were fired anyway. |
