I was recently suspended from work due to behavioral/conduct issues. I am most likely pending termination. I heard from two coworkers that during the shift the day following my suspension, everyone was discussing this. Three of our key hourly managers were working at the time. Is it not against my rights to have them even mention that I was suspended, much less to be discussing the matter? Do I have any recourse? Does this foul up their following proper procedure? One of the girls told me that 'everyone' was talking about it at the end of the night. I did not clarify, but this leads me to wonder if they were also discussing it with regular customers. I work in the restaurant industry. Any insight would be very helpful before I speak to anyone later today.

I doubt there is any law broken if they are discussing truthful incidences. “Does this foul up their following proper procedure?” I do not believe there is any law which mandates what procedure or policy they follow. If you belong to a union, there may be contractual procedures with the union that they must follow. |
