You have said very little to explain what the nature of your question is and what kind of help you are seeking. Was the claim denied? Accepted? When was it ruled on? Was it? Much more information is needed. Please, be specific.

it has already been accepted, in March 2001, the help we need is that, i have put in for a schedule award for the injury, and they keep giving me the run around, now for over 2 years now, now we are being made to pay for the 3 years they keep disaproving it on the injury, in the begainning, 4 Jan 1999,the appointment travel to and from, and meds, and all the supplies it cost us out of pocket, we put all the cost with this on credit cards, now with this being done we are going to lose our home, because we can't pay all of them on what we have, without the schedule award, we need a lawer's help, they get paid from me after workers comp aproves their time on the case, thats what we need help with, we need to find a lawyer that cares.....

I don't understand why you cannot find an attorney. In my state, I have had dealings with two WC cases, one of a friend and one of my late husband who died in a tragic accident while at work. In both of these cases, the attorney represented and is representing us respectively for free---we never paid a dime out of pocket. Now, in my friends case, he had to pay out of his pocket for his bills and his medical care until the case was ruled upon and he was awarded medical care. I assure you that once you hire an attorney, a lot of the "run around" will stop.

That being said, I understand firsthand your frustration with a process taking so long. My husband was killed May 3 of this year, and the claim was admitted by WC the day after he died. How hard can it be, right? It's been four months and not a penny has appeared yet. The claim was admitted, and they agree to pay, but like your case, they have not yet. I hired my attorney representing me in another case to represent me in this case---and I did so less than 24 hours after the death. Amazing how helpful WC can be when an attorney is involved.

I would seek your phone book and ask for a referral from a legal aid service---nearly every state has one. Unfortunately, what you are describing happens. While I haven't been adversely affected financially by my husbands passing, per se since we planned carefully in the event such a thing as this would happen, we would be prepared, but my friend did not, and like you, his case seemed to drag out forever and he was behind in a lot of his bills, too.

I feel certain there are attorneys out there to help you----and they accept cases on a contingency basis. Good luck.
