Default neighbor

My friend built a house, two houses down from a golf course. The problem is flying golf balls hitting their cars and also broke a window out of the house. Her husband has asked the golf course to please do something about it in fear of a golf ball hitting his 5 year old son. Their answer was they were there first. Would appreciate any advice.

I'm curious, what is the "something" you want the golf course owners to do?

Default Golf Coarse Whoa's

Anytime your property backs up to a golf coarse you have the potential problem of these golf balls coming into your yard. But, it is the responsibility of the golfer, who's ball came into your yard and broke your window or dented your car to pay for these items. If that golfer does not come forward, you cannot expect the golf coarse to pay for it, they have no control over a persons actions. It is the golf course's obligation though to post all rules and regulations for these golfers and it should state that if they stray off the fairway and the ball does in fact go into a yard or damages property, that they are legally responsibly for any and all damages. The only problem is, that most of these golfers are not honest (look at their score cards, that will tell you! So good luck in having someone to fess up to the property damage. I also understand the concern about your five year old being hit by one of those stray golf balls, but this is the headache you have to contend with when living on a coarse or in a golfing community. (no pun intended)
