Wrong Social Security number

Hello,
This is my first time here.
I bought a home in NY several years ago. All of my information was given correctly and verified at closing. My wife's name is on deed with me but not on loan or mortgage information.
My mortgage has been sold and transferred MANY times...in one of those transactions they erroneously put my wife's social security number in file as mine. Now, if I call to talk to them, I have to give her number as mine to discuss account. I have told them repeatedly this is the wrong number. Are they able to legally foreclose if they do not have the correct social security number on file?

Unless you forfeit or otherwise violate the terms of the mortgage agreement with the new holder of your mortgage, you are abiding by the terms of the mortgage agreement. You do not need to be concerned that your wife's social security number is listed on the mortgage at the exclusion of yours. As long as both of your names are on the deed, the mortgage will belong to both you and your spouse. If you ever need to refinance the house you might be provided with an opportunity to amend the mortgage by listing your name and social security number. Hello,
Yes, you have to violate the terms of mortgage with the new holder first. It is good if you take some guidance from the family attorney. Because they deliver you the best suggestion for this issue.
