New owner planted trees in time we will not have oour view of Lake

We brought some acres about land 5 years ago and built a house filled with windows facing the lake. The reason we bought this property was for the lake view.
He planted pine trees between us and the lake that will grow intime 20-30 feet tall and we will not beable to see the lake. There would be no other reason for him to plant the trees except to block our view. This is a Spite Fence what what can I do about it??????
Please help we want our view!!!!!!!!!!!!! We live in Michigan. We asked him nicely to please take them down we even offered to dig them up and put them where ever he wanted. We also offered to put up a fence that we could see throught or plant some small shrubs to seperate the propery but he just said it was his property and he could do anytning he wanted with it. Can't find any zoning law.

Is there any specific zoning laws that deal with your property or property in that community? If not you may want to speak to an attorney about any other options you have.
