Contact with a draftsman

Hi,

Does anyone know where I could find examples of contracts signed with a draftsman to prepare construction documents?

There are a number of companies that sell “basic” legal forms online. That’s probably your best bet. Some examples are, www.uslegalforms.com, www.legalzoom.com, and www.findlegalforms.com. Frankly just go to a search engine, type in “legal forms” or the specific legal form you are looking for and a number of companies will pop up.

The quality of the forms vary, but I don’t know which company is better then another. Price is not indicative of quality.

Alternatively, most of these same forms are available for free from state government web sites. If you have the time to peruse through government sites that are rarely well organized, that’s probably the best alternative.

There are “non-governmental” sites that offer free forms. Be a bit more careful here because laws do change and sometimes forms are not updated.

Finally, you can play it safe and have a lawyer prepare the form. If you are specific with them and the form is basic, you can probably negotiate a reasonable flat fee to do the work.
