Need more help!!!
My husband's dad's estate sale was this past Saturday. It went okay although they didn't get the money that they thought they would. ANYWAY, the executor, their sister, has been lying about their dad's items that were at the house. He had 2 rototillars that should have been in the auction and sold with the rest of the items from the house,a log splitter, and several other things that should have been there that weren't in the auction. One of the sister's lived right next door to the parents and her and her husband knew the items that he had at the house. The sister that is the executor is doing things very dishonest. One of the things is that she is still living in their dad's house even though she was told to stay in there only until the auction. There is really no reason for her and her husband to stay there anymore. The sister that lives next door can just as easily go over there everyday to check on the house. Also,"Carla" is supposed to cancel everything that has her dad's name on,ie. bills. She is still using the internet with her dad's name on. She is also paying bills with the estate money which should really be coming out of her own pocket since it has nothing to do with the estate. My husband's 2 other sisters are going to be talking to the estate attorney and tell him what is going on. My husband can't do anything from here since he works 3rd shift and he sleeps during the day. Also the auctioneer also "stole" some of the fishing poles that were supposed to have been sold in the auction also.
One last thing, would it have been best for the family not to have been at the auction? Some of us bought some of the things that we wanted since no one else wanted it. I heard that the auctioneer took some of their dad's fishing poles and put them in his truck. Now how true that it,I don't know.
This is a very messy estate situation. I know that it is best to talk to an attorney, which is being done. But I just want to get some more opinions.
