mechanical lien
i live in the state of virginia. i am a subcontractor. a company owes me $1926.00. i have tried numerous attempts to get paid with no avail. i was told i could do a mechanical lien. what papers (forms) do i need to fill out, where do i go to fill them out, the cost (if any), and how long does it usually take to get some results. i was also told i need a lawyer to do this. is this right ? or can i do it myself ? thanks for your help.
