Question Lawsuit?

How do you know if someone has filed a lawsuit against or not?

Or if there are any judgements pending against you?

Is there a way to find this information?

All lawsuits are public record. Check with your courthouse. Most have computer that you can type your name into.

Thanks for your reply!

But isn't there some system on the internet where you could search this information? How would you know if someone filed a lawsuit against you in some county courthouse where you don't live?

In Wisconsin all county court records are assesable on the county court website. Not sure about other states but maybe you could check.

If you are wondering about whether or not a lawsuit has been filed against a third party, public records are the way to go. If, however, you are wondering about whether a lawsuit has been filed against you (or if a judgement is pending), you would DEFINITELY know! :-O (papers are sent via certified mail, and in many cases, are hand delivered)
