Default Redefining Property Lines

We Co-owned 100 acres with my some friends. A few years back they decided they want to sell but we need to divide the property. The only way to do this was to split the property right down the middle, so to speak. Are property looked a little like an L. Did we have to have the property survey in order to have the property lines redefined this way?

Yes. With a survey, there will never be a question for you, your neighbor, or any other subsequent owners, as to who owns what. When you do this type of division yourself, you can never be sure and if you sell, you may wind up with a lawsuit from any new owner.

Get the survey. It's cheap insurance.
