Contract to Marry

My future wife and I want to take a break from our relationship for a while (~ one year) to give space for ourselves. However, we are very committed to each other, and want nothing but to marry. However, I want to officialize the future marriage by having us sign some sort of contract that legally binds us to marriage (with penalties if one person wants to opt out.. perhaps). She is willing to sign.

Is there ANYTHING like a legal document or contract for making sure two individuals will tie the knot?

No

Nothing enforceable by a court.

If you are right for each other and so in love etc, firstly, why would you need a break at all, and secondly (and most peculiar in my mind) why on earth would you want to force the other to marry you?! This is immoral and weird! I'm sorry to sound so harsh, I am not putting either of you down as if this is something you both want then that is fair enough. I suppose you may be able to get a unique agreement drafted by a lawyer tailored to your requirements, a sort of pre-nup of sorts. However, I doubt that (even if a lawyer would do this and they prob would because of course they would be making money from this) this agreement would stand up in court should any dispute arise, as if one of you changes your mind, you are suing them to force them to marry you?! There have been numerous cases in the past where an engaged couple have parted and one has sued the other for breach of contract, and I am not aware that this has ever held up in court. I guess the most you could sue for might be emotional distress should you not marry, but that's a big might. I cannot see how this agreement could be successfully relied upon in court. I wouldn't waste your money!
