Hi,

My husband's father is a widow and is getting ready to remarry. What rights does the new spouse have to my father-in-laws assests that he had prior to the marriage if my father-in-law were to pass away? Would the spouse be able to obtain the assests or would the children from my father-in-laws side have the rights to the assets?

Barring some prenup agreement, the assets he had before marriage become their joint property after marriage.
