| It won't affect HIS credit unless he tries to put you on his credit card as a cosigner. THEN it will affect his credit with that card company... but not necessarily his credit report with the three big reporters... unless you go crazy with his card. If he gets a mortgage, it will not be a problem unless he needs your income to get the mortgage. Then YOUR credit will inhibit you from getting a good rate and perhaps stop him from being able to purchase a house without a larger point payment AND a larger rate than his own credit would qualify him for. The bad credit ratings only influence creditors of an account where YOU are also listed as responsible. |
