Exclamation Ex-boyfriend threating...

Hi.Here is my situation. My ex-boyfriend is a rich and powerful man. We've been together 1,5 month only and he gave me TV as a Christmas gift.Of course, we had some lunches and dinners that he paid for.But in 1,5 month he tried to make my friend(22 years old girl) to be a girlfriend of one of his married friend. He was told by both of us that she will not have relationships with married guys, but he kept insist.(she went to another state and still afraids to come back.)So,I decided to break up because really didn't like his behaivor.Sent him email that I can be just friends and don't want any relationships with him.He responded to me by invoice that I borrowed money from his company.he included TV, SPA Pass(which he just promised me)some lunches and dinners.According to his invoice I owe his company $2000!!!
..."Failure on your part to repay this amount in full by March 12th will cause me to immediately place the matter in the hands of my attorney, who will not only initiate the appropriate lawsuit, but will also file a formal complaint with the US Department of Justice, Naturalization & Immigration Service, and notify all three credit bureaus!"-
that what he included to those invoice.I have absolutely legal status(Green Card) and never broke any law.But he knows that I just lost my job and raising my son(I'm a single mother).so, I have no money to pay him, and I told him that all I can do- just return his TV, but he needs money or ME !!!!I afraid of this person and really don't know what should I do.
My question is :should i go to police and tell them all this story and what is the possible outcome of all this situation?I have no money for lawyer and don't really know what will happened to me.
Please, advise me! Thanks a lot.

Bottom line: is there a written agreement to repay?

The things given to you as gifts are not such that should be repaid.

Also, if he does sue you, he will have to go to small claims court---and you don't need an attorney for that.

If you are here legally, you have nothing to fear.

I would, however, take the paper to the police and ask them if they think that the demand for payment is a threat or blackmail---the fact he threatens to sue you is NOT blackmail. However, a threat not to pay and threatening to report you to INS has nothing to do with repayment of the money and is, in my opinion a threat (i.e. blackmail).

Also, he cannot notify the credit bureaus without obtaining a judgment against you. He cannot simply tell them you owe him money---there is no proof.

He is a blowhard that needs to be put into his place.

FILE a restraining order against his sorry self and he will be instructed not to contact you further.

Another thought--if he is using money from his company he spent on YOU as a business write off, I would tell him YOU are calling the IRS.

: )

Whoa. Don't threaten a clearly strange person.

Do as Grace DID suggest though... go to court for a restraining order. His attempted blackmail smacks of payment for services...

As far as the TV goes, HE delivered it. HE can pick it up... if he can get past the restraining order. Do not fail to go to small claims court if he sues. He cannot FAIL to give you an invoice way back then and suddenly determine that he SOLD you a TV. This is going to sound like just what he is, a controlling monster who thinks he can trade on your emigration status without even apparently knowing that you are here legally.

STAY AWAY FROM HIM.
