Theme park worker assault against child advice
Hi, I'll try and keep this short, I'm looking for some advice.
Our family visited a theme park on vacation, a ride greeter physically assaulted, by shoving my 16 year old daughter who was asking her a question, leaving bruising and was extremely rude to myself and my daughter, I was in a wheelchair which is why my daughter had walked over to ask the greeter the question and not myself.
The assault has caused obvious embarressment to my daughter and myself and emotional trauma to my daughter. She was abused when she was younger and had previously undergone intensive therapy and the assault brought back a lot of what she'd put behind her.
The assault was reported at the park and a written report given by myself. I contacted the park after we returned home and they have since passed it on to an insurance company who are now saying they are investigating.
We have recieved two type written letters from the theme park one saying the claim was forwarded to the insurance company, the latest today addressing the incident, saying appropriate steps were taken with the individual that assaulted my daughter and apologising for the incident.
I haven't been in a situation like this before and am not sure how to handle the insurance company, or even if I should be talking with them at all or if I should contact a lawyer. I've been asked twice what I want and I'm at a loss what to say, I believe our vacation was ruined and my daughter has been emotionally traumatised, and we were both extremely embarressed, but I'm not a lawyer, I don't know how to respond to "what do you want?"
Any advise would be appreciated.
