I have a small Personal Injury case that looks like it is going to go to trial. My friend has legal power of attorney over my legal affairs. He is also a disbarred attorney. Can he go in and stand in for me if it goes to trial? No one will take my case and I can't handle a trial! He is also one of my witnesses. We can't seem to find any case law on this. If there is any can you direct me to it? Thank you.

You will need to find out the local rules of your courthouse. If they let a legal power of attorney file suit and argue then it is okay. Problem, this person is disbarred (doesn't look good) and is also a witness (interested party) so I would suggest finding someone else or doing it yourself even though you don't want to. You filing and arguing will look better than a disbarred attorney/witness doing it if it is even allowed.
