Need advice concerning child immigration of LPR
Hi..
I could really use some advice concerning what my available options are. heres the scenario:
My wife is a citizen of Georgia. We have been married for almost 3 years. She is a lawful permanent resident. Her child is 16 years and still in Georgia. We applied at USCIS for child almost 2 years ago. The child had an interview at US embassy in Georgia last year. Consular decided she didn't like "something" and sent the case back to the state department for review, and denied the child a visa. USCIS has the case, and twice now they have went past the time for a decision. Twice we have contacted them, and gotten the simple response "we are still reviewing your case"
Considering the current situation in Georgia, the child is admittedly stressed and fearful of what might happen(as is my wife), especially considering russians are still occupying georgian soil.
Do i have any other options for getting the child here quickly (refugee status, asylum, etc) anything that can help move things along so that child and parent can be reunited.
Or Am i at the mercy of USCIS, and have no choice but ot sit on my hands waiting for them to make a decision.
Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
