Not sure what i could do
I was just wondering if I had any kind of a case.
My wife just recently had a baby at a hospital, and the experience was horrible. They treated us as if they were profileing us. Her doctor picked out a pediatrician for us to use, and they wouldnt let us use that dr, they came in at 2:00am with the one they had on call, and they told us that was the dr we had to use. we went to the hospital on a Monday at 8:00pm, and she didnt give birth untill tuesday, at 2:50pm. we had gotten no sleep. then at midnight my wife had asked if they could take are newborn daughter to the nursery for a couple hours, and the nurse flat out said no. She said we have to learn how to take care of this baby. My sisters all had babys, and most hospitals recomended to them to take the baby to the nursery. It wasnt even 15minutes later and they came in and talked to my wife about post pardem depression. I understand that its protocal, but its the way they went about doing it. my wife told two of the nurses that she did not want to breast feed our child, and they said that its just cause shes tired and she needs to get use to it, and they made her keep doing it. finally the next day i spoke up for my wife and said she didnt want to and that she wasnt going to. they finally droped it. My wife is hispanic, only speaks english, and she has a slight hearing problem. wich we had told the nurses. they countinued to ask her if she would be beter off with an spanish inturperter. Are daughters bellierubin was higher than normal so they put her on the belli blanket. instead of checking her blood once a day they were checking it every six hours. there was once they sent a nurse to take it, and she couldnt even get anyblood. So they came in 10min later and took her ncu. they brought her back in about 20min. 10min later they came in to take her back, because the nurse forgot too label the viles. on wendsday they gave us papers about the billi blanket and it said we as parents had the option to put her under the lights or keep her on the blanket. her levels went up over the night and they wanted to keep her on the blankit. i told them i wanted to put her under the lights so we could get rid of this. The pedetrician told us no she didnt need it, but she is woried about the levels. We finally got discharged at 6:00pm on thursday. are pedeitrician wouldnt let us go. she didnt belive that we had are dr's appointment the next day. She asked for all her info, and asked her if she could try and talk us into staying another night. R dr of course said no. The following tuesday my child was readmitted to the hospital, of course we chose a different one, and she was put under the lights. shes doing fine now. before we left the pedetrician told us to watch for bumbs on our childs skin because she could have herpeas. I couldnt belive she said that, thats an std, and u cant even have ur baby vaginal if u have herpeas. Sorry for the mis wording and misspelling im just in a hurry, and dont know if i could file some kind of a lawsuit against them or not. when we finally left the patient advacate did appologize and gave my wife a free vip pass to the spa they have there. My wife said she will never step foot in that hospital again. Finally on our way home we realised they didnt even give my wife any pads, fomula for the baby,a bag, nothing. again sorry if this is confusing im just frustraded and dont really know how to put it all down, or if i could even have a legitiment case... thanks alot......
