Unhappy Double Booked??

I rented a spot for a week at an RV park. I was there for 2 days when I got a knock on the door saying that I had to let you because they double-booked the spo that I was in. And then they told me that there was 32 people ahead of me waiting for a spot. I asked for my money back and they said they do not prorate. I was rented a spot by one of their employees I got a receipt with my length of stay. But the manager said the person that running me to spot with new even though she had been there for several years and pretty much she didn't know what she was doing. Do I need to leave is it legal what they are doing? Can they actually keep my money?
