Please help - being evicted by the residence while overseas

hi, i am living in an apartment with 2 other residents. only one of them is actually on the contract. i gave 1 month deposit and i pay rent each month to her.
while i am overseas we had an argument(they knew someone was coming to stay in my room and decided its not convenient to them in a sudden and refused to let her in). we acknowledge we cant live together but they decided that i should leave immediately.. they want to move my things and return my deposit and only half month rent - all this while i am overseas - can they do this?
what rights do i have against it? or to maybe receive the whole month rent since i wasn't there and they decided i cant come back- they are leaving me homeless...
thanks in advance.
