When I was 16 years old I was deported back to Canada from the US for working without a permit (but no criminal charges were filed) I have no other type of criminal record (either US or Canadian). I know (considering current strict security checks) that I would be banned from re-entering the US because of this black mark. Can I ask to have this not considered or ask for a pardon because I was a minor at the time in 1966. In Canada, juvenile records are not admissible in adult court. Would this be similar in the US and to whom would I have to apply to for a pardon, US Immigration or the Justice Dept. Are pardons even given in the US ?

If your conviction makes you ineligible for a visa to the U.S., you may request a waiver of ineligibility from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.
If you have been arrested or convicted of a crime in New Zealand, and wish to apply for a visa, in addition to the standard application documents, you must submit a certified copy of your criminal record. The administration of criminal records are the responsibility of the canada Ministry of Justice. Please do NOT contact the CA Police for this record. ====================== anna New York Immigration Lawyer Marina Shepelsky, located in Brooklyn, assists clients from the New York metro area and across the United States in all immigration and naturalization matters New York Immigration Lawyer, New York Immigration Attorney Marina Shepelsky assists clients from the New York metro area in all immigration matters. |

Dear Jack, Apparently you don't KNOW Jack, really, or you would know handly things readily apparent to even the most casual of viewers. First of all, Dear Jack, the original posting was from YEARS ago. No doubt, the original poster has long since departed this forum. Secondly, the terms of service you agreed to FOLLOW when you signed up for this site states that no spam, advertisements, etc. were allowed from posters. Also, has it escaped your notice that this forum is provided BY attorneys--doesn't it seem disingenuous to plug your OWN business on someone else's bandwidth, especially when you agreed in the terms of service not to do so? Bye, bye, Jack. We almost knew ya. |
