Angry Grandparents trying to adopt

Our daughter has agreed for us to adopy her 6 month old son. The father has nothing to do with the child what so ever. From the day our daughter told him she was pregnant he has had nothing to do with her or the child. He has made no effort to see the child or anything. We hired a lawyer to handle the adoption and when he served the papers to the father, not after six months he was a paternity test done ad if the child his is he wants a relationship with him because his parents told him it was the right thing to do. Please give me your input, I am very concerned about my grandson.

Default Dad's have paternity rights.

“not (Now) after six months he was (wants) a paternity test done ad (and) if the child his is he wants a relationship with him because his parents told him it was the right thing to do.”

If he’s the dad, he does have paternity rights.

From the Forum Administrator: For more information about paternity issues, see the LegalMatch Law Library article Paternity.
