Exclamation Desperate Grandma

I Am A 53 Year Old Grandmother. My Daughter And 2 Grandchildren Have Lived In My Home For Several Years. I Have Enrolled My 8 Year Old Grandson In Pre-school, Kindergarden, And First Grade. His Father Sees Him Every Other Weekend. My Daughter Got Married And Her Husband Let Her Write Checks From His Checking Account For Bills And Groceries. She Wrote 3 Checks In One Week At A Gas Station And They Bounced. He Got Upset And Threw Her And Kids Out Of There House. He Went To Prosecutor And Filed Felony Charges Against Her Because He Was Upset. She Signed His Name. They Got Her For Forgery And It Is A Felony. She Is Now In Jail And Will Be Out In 2 Months. They Are No Longer Together And I Still Have Grandchildren In My Home. My Grand Child That Is 8 Does Not Belong To Her Husband. They Were Only Together For A Few Months. Meanwhile--my Grandsons Father Would Not Give Him Back To Me After Being With Him For The Week-end. I Contacted An Attorney And He Wrote Up A Power Of Attorney For Me. The Fater Refused To Give Him To Me. I Was Told To Go To The School And Take The Legal Papers And Get Him. The Principal Accepted The Power Of Attorney. While I Was Waiting For Taylor To Come To The Office To Leave With Me, His Fathers Girlfriend Intercepted And I Could Not Find Him. The Next Morning Taylors Father Got An Attorney And Told The Judge I Tried To Kidnap My Grandson And That He Had Him All Summer. The Court Awarded Him Temporary Custody. It States He Cannot Be With Me Because Of Endangerment. I Have Never Spanked My Grandson. I Work As An Election Clerk For The Clerks Office. I Am Retired From Marion Hosp. As A Respiratory Therapist And A Nurse. I Do Not Have Visitation Rights. I Feel I Have Been Slandered And Not Had A Chance To Represent My Self. My Daughter And 2 Grandchildren Live In My Home. Taylor Has Lived With Me At Least 6 Years. I Need Help. Can I Sue The Attorney For Slander.

Default Visitation rights

“I Contacted An Attorney And He Wrote Up A Power Of Attorney For Me.”

I’ve no clue what this was for, you don’t say who it served.

“I Do Not Have Visitation Rights.”

Unfortunately, grandparents don’t have many rights, parents do. I can see how the Courts would award custody to the biological father, since the mother is in jail.

I Feel I Have Been Slandered And Not Had A Chance To Represent My Self. My Daughter And 2 Grandchildren Live In My Home. Taylor Has Lived With Me At Least 6 Years. I Need Help.

“Can I Sue The Attorney For Slander.”

I suspect this would be very difficult to win. Suits can takes months and sometimes years to resolve, why spend your time on this when there are more important issues to concern yourself with? I suggest that you speak with an attorney about custody rights of your daughter when she gets out of jail.
