I am in desperate need of help. My sister has kicked my 16 y/o niece out of the house. my sister and her husband recently separated, my niece went to stay with her dad but he has another agenda. My niece started acting out because her mother refused to make my nieces ex-boyfriend stay away from their house. (he was basically homeless due to his own family issues). My sister felt sorry for him and pretty much let him move in and stay on the couch. So instead of my sister looking out for her own childs feelings she was sympothetic to the ex-boyfriend my niece says that she has been replaced by him and rebelled when her mom quit listening to her. Resulting in the "kick out". Her dad's sole goal is to get my sister to take him back and blames my niece for their separation. Now my niece is staying with people she shouldnt be..going to school and trying to work part time. I have asked her to come live with me but she is in nc and im in va. Now because their have let total control slip away from them they want to have her arrested as delinquent and an incorragable child. I dont want this to happen but im afraid if she is forced to come here she will run away. How can I save my niece.

If you don't want your niece "lost in the system" then you will want to fight for custody of her despite the fact that you think that she will run away. Maybe another relative can take her if they live in the same state.
