Would like to reverse adoption

I was adopted by my stepfather at age 6. I am now an adult. My stepfather was abusive, and I no longer have anything to do with him. My biological father is back in my life, and always will be. My mother is also very supportive of this. I would like to have the adoption that was done 20 years ago reversed. Is this possible? The adoption took place in Noble County, Indiana.

Not unless your adoptive father is willing to relinquish his fatherhood, and allow you to be re-adopted by your natural father.

Otherwise, just move on with your life. You're supposedly an adult.

When my son was adopted by my husband, our attorney searched for his natural father to make every effort for him to know this was happening. They found him and the court date came and he didn't show up so by default my husband adopted my son. It was no contest and that was it.

So I guess if your adoptive father isn't concerned then you can do as you wish. If you think he'll contest it.. then just as the other poster said.. move on... its not going to make any difference at this point. I understand the sensitive nature of your desires.. but sometimes these things will only get stickier and more upsetting for you.
