Default school liability

My sons are 11 and 8. They are both in elementary school. On the school bus and home they have to deal with about 6 kids who like to "assault" them. On the bus, they have been in fights, they have scratched my oldest sons face and arms and they punch my youngest in the face. The principle and bus driver seem to overlook when the other kids do this. Yet, my kids are repromanded for trying to defend themselves. Especially my oldest because he is older than the other kids. The principle simply tells my son that she will take care of it or not to worry about it. My son is no angel but I feel that the principle, the bus driver, and their failure to punish the other children is considered child endangerment. Please tell if I am right!!!! I have now had to go to the board of education with this matter.

If you feel that your "Angels" have been assaulted, and that you are "right", then you can do one of two things:

1. Fill out and file a Governmental Claim form; or

2. Hire a local personal injury attorney to file the Claim.

Exclamation Bus Beatings

This matter shows up in the news occassionally.

By chance do the schools buses have video taping capabilities? I know alot of them do just for this reason. If so ask to review them and get a copy.

Please get to the bottom of this without delay before a more serious incident occurs.

Good luck

Iam so sorry to hear about what your child is going through. My son is a 7th grader and i have had to request for my son to be removed from a classroom where his teacher harass him daily. I went to the school and talked to the principal and nothing was been done about it. They always said it was him doing this and that. i went to the school and this teacher did not know i was there and she had my son in the hall yelling at him and i walked up on her. i got my son book and told him to come on and this crazy teacher got in my face after cutting off my step. I f my son had not been with me i would be in jail today. You are so right about the school and principal overlooking thing like this ,but you need to file papers i would and put your story in your local newspaper and this will get them moving. Let me know what happen because that principal actions is unethical.
