have this unique situation,
where i put a house in Florida in the name of my partner so he would qualify for income tax deduction he had also been my administrator for 20 years, controlling bank accounts etc. i paid all expenses relating to house, gardener, pool, repairs, electric, sewage etc. He paid basic mortgage, but did collect rent from two tennants. with such a long partnership, i did not make him sign an additional paper naming me owner. however we both had signed wills giving all assets to one another, or my daughter. now he decided the house is his. Based on Florida law he is probably right. the Lawyer says, it will cost me 30 to 50.000 dollars and up to 3 years to fight the case.....since he cleaned out the accounts, i do not have that type of cash. he refuses arbitration. he has taken out an additional mortgage of about 180.000 to make the property value less. have no idea on how to go about this. thanks for input.
