Default Nothing for steppson?

I live in Indiana and a few years ago my father passed away and my stepmother got everything and that was ok with me.But now she has passed and left everything by will to her natural children? They(her children)did`nt even put my name in her obituary. My father had alot of assets and I know thats why they want me out of the way.Is there anything I can do to get some of my own father property aned assets???This dos`nt seam fair at all or even just.
Just because I`m was her steppson I get nothing of my fathers?
Any advise would be helpful....LTG

Thats how wills work. Your father left everything to his wife and she in turn gets to leave your father's property and hers to whoever she wants. You may want to consult an attorney though and find out if there are any loopholes.

Default Re Stepson

I doubt verey much if there is a loophole. I have many friends that this very same thing happened to. I am a step mother myself - divorced for 12 years now - but still his kids are mine. When we were married I always told the girls that I would NEVER interfere with them gettting their fathers assets. Other than our home that is - since that was purchased in both of our names and was mine legally. The step mother sounds selfish and in my humble opinion anyway - she should have at least let you come in and get some personal belongings at the time of your fathers death but that is just life and I dont really see any way around it. I might be wrong but .... the best thing would have been for your fathers will to have stated that upon his wifes death that everything be split evenly - and he should have specifically stated that in his will to take care of his natural kids as well as his stepkids. But unfortunatly as someone else said, at the time of her passing, she was free to do with her estate as she wished to.
