California estate question (first of two ?s)

I am the executor of my father's small estate. With the exception of some cash bequests in his will (which will be the subject of my next question), the entire estate goes to his wife. Most everything is in joint name--the only significant asset that is in his name alone is a car. I understand that the title can be transferred to his wife by submitting the "pink slip" along with a form that provides for transfer of property without probate, so that's what I plan to do. My question is this: the will specifies that the entire estate goes to his wife "provided that she survives me by one hundred eighty (180) days." Does this mean that I need to wait six months before initiating the title transfer on the car?
