Threatened with lawsuit

I worked as an Executive Director for a small non-profit. I was instructed to
sign a promissory note for $50,000 by the CEO along with the CEO and Marketing Director. I am now being threatened by the personal lender for repayment. Can I be sued because I was an employee and agent of the company and this loan was not for personal gain?

Who is the promissory note for?

We can’t see this promissory note, was it a personal note, or did you sign it on behalf of the non profit as a representative of the non profit?
