Default The job that never was

I was hired by a school to become a Director of a program. I received a simple employment contract, stating the salary, position and starting date, signed by both the employer and myself.
Upon commencement of employment, I was informed that the job no longer exists. I have passed up another offer for this position and now I have nothing.

Do I have any legal right to sue?

Ron

Without using actual names, please type your entire "simple employment contract" verbatim.

Also, please tell us your State.

In answer to your question, yes, you can, and should, sue. Your causes of action would be breach of contract and detrimental reliance, among other causes of action. See a local attorney for representation.
