AND the moment the opinion of perfect strangers on the Internet matters to me in the

I suppose the irony of saying I need mental help in one breath, then saying you are going to copy my work in the next breath escapes you.
I also feel rather certain it would be too ambitious of me to suggest you actually put some effort into developing a sense of your own personal style, thoughts, and presentation instead of merely copying my own? Eh........... was afraid of that. Let me leave you with a Samuel Johnson quote.........a long time favorite of mine....... "Almost all absurdity of conduct arises from the imitation of those who we cannot possibly resemble." Enjoy........... with my compliments. |

And YOU are copying me. The irony of that still escapes you?
Clearly you are not intelligent enough to come up with something witty, or worth articulating on your own-- "koo-koo"? (Toss in a neener neener and you will have to stand by the fence and miss recess for being a meanie!!) --so you are going to copy me. In the absence of intelligent originality, imitation is acceptable, I suppose. I've been called worse by better than you, and yes, I am STILL eagerly waiting for it to matter in the least. Nope.......not yet. Last edited by GentleGrace : 10-13-2009 at 06:12 AM. |

Riddle me this, Batman....
YOU made this statement earlier about the court date:
(which there really isnt one, all you need to do is go with the signed off ticket to the clerk before the date on the ticket) How do you "really not have a date"? You DO have a date---there is a date ON it, BUT you DO have the OPTION to appear BEFORE that date, which is what you meant, not really that there was no court date. Has it occurred to you to wonder WHY you NO LONGER have the OPTION TO SIMPLY APPEAR BEFORE THAT DATE? Think about it. Before you said there "wasn't really" a date. Well, either there is or there isn't. What you meant was you did not have to APPEAR as LONG as you took care of it before hand. NOW you have to see the JUDGE . While you are resting on your laurels because you got someone to tell you what you want to hear---that everything is *fine* and you are in no way responsible for this mistake, ask yourself WHY you HAVE to appear now. As I said, no one has a crystal ball. But, per your own comments here, YOU HAD the ability to simply go pay the ticket and take care of it before court. NOW you MUST appear in PERSON. Why might that be?Is it possible he wants to see you in person to hold you accountable for YOUR mistake while trying to EXCUSE the actions of the deputy? Any thoughts? (Besides those of me, that is)? |

The law is the law!
I have a question, Grace. I am confused. This car was leased. So does that mean you can do anything you want to a leased car? OR were the windows tinted when they bought it and if so, could the dealer hold some responsibility for selling an illegal car? Either way, the driver should know right away if the windows are tinted too dark. It never ceases to amaze me how if it is illegal to have windows that are tinted too dark but yet there are businesses who will tint them as dark as you want them and people will buy them knowing full well it is illegal. It's like saying that just because the car goes up to 120 mph, it doesn't mean you have the right to use it. <shaking head>

I do not know if they tinted the windows themselves or if the dealer did it. If they did it themselves, I do not know if it was illegal or not for them to alter a leased vehicle because I cannot know from what the poster said what the terms of their agreement were. In other words, perhaps the dealer allowed them to tint the windows as long as they had it removed before returning the vehicle. Also it is possible the dealer did not know the windows were tinted incorrectly. It is also entirely possible that the windows were NOT incorrectly tinted and the officer just misjudged. I really have no way of knowing. I would suspect though that given the fact that a lot of vehicles could come from other states with other laws it is entirely possible to lease a vehicle that had illegal window tint and neither the dealer or the owner were aware. Most reputable window tint dealers put a seal of verification certifiying that the tint meets state regulations. Those who "tint regardless of the law" are undoubtely do-it-yourselfers who either do not know better or who do not care. I have several high performance racing vehicles and they are all tinted, some of them custom tint with flames, etc. I made sure I had mine done professionally so were I to be stopped, the shop that did the work would be responsible. In this case, since the poster said had the window tint removed, I am going to guess that 1. he had the tint put on 2. he wasn't supposed to have the tint put on and 3. he wanted it removed before ht returned the vehicle. Were it to be the dealers fault, I suspect he would have contacted the dealer immediately and (judging from the posters poor attitude) passed the proverbial buck. |
