dui but under legal limit

i live in CA and two weeks ago i was arrested and held in jail over night for driving under the influence of alcohol. i didn't do the breath test, i chose to do the blood because that is what the cops recommended to me. i got my results back a week ago and found out i was under the legal limit. i just got a copy of the police report yesterday and i'm trying to figure this all out. i'm only 21 and i will not be able to afford a lawyer. is this case going to be dropped or am i still going to get a dui? what should i be expecting and what do i need to know?

While a blood alcohol level (BAL) over a specific limit (whatever that limit is in your jurisdiction) is usually conclusive proof that you are drunk for purposes of DUI laws, having a BAL under that specific limit is generally not conclusive proof that you are sober.

Therefore, you could still be convicted of DUI so long as enough evidence exists (e.g. police testimony regarding your inability to pass his sobriety test).
