Hello!
I'm an undocumented immigrant living in SC. I do not have a valid US driver's licese. However I do have a Florida State Learner Permit from 2000 wich is going to expire in March 2007.I also have a so called international driving permit and my foregin (european)DL. My question is that what are my chances of ending up in jail or worse ,being deported if pulled over by Police? Wich License should I present to the officer? Can the officer ask me about my status? If so,what should I say?Does It help if I just say the truth ,why I don't have a license? Thank You! Last edited by scimmigrant : 12-05-2006 at 09:11 AM. |

Driving without a License is illegal whether you are here legally or not. Not being familiar with your state's laws I would assume that you could be cited or arrested.
As for being deported since you are here illegally then I would say this is a possibility. Check out this recent article: http://cbs4boston.com/topstories/loc...337093758.html Good luck. |

Well, first of all, you're an illegal alien in this country. Second, you're unlicensed. Third, you have no vehicle insurance, even though it's required. Fourth, you actually believe that you'll get a response from a "legal site" when you admit that you do everything illegal. Westside Law Last edited by admin : 12-05-2006 at 12:25 PM. |

I agree---it is pretty nervy to ask a LEGAL site how to stay in this country illegally. I am all for immigrants----my grandfather was one of them--I never met a better more decent hard-working man in my life. But, he came here legally. Why are people offended when someone believes that people are welcomed if they come legally, and unwelcomed when they do not? |
