Hmm, funny but when I got a DUI I went up to the States ATty and talked to the gal - told her that I was the primary caregiver for my mother who is blind - which I was at the time - and she not only agreed to court supervision for 2 years which I completed BUT she also agreed to NO suspension of my license. I didnt lose my license for ONE minute - never had to get a work driving permit - nothing. I left the court and went to the circuit clerk and got my license immediately back. The circuit clerk tried to fight me on it til I showed her the letter that the judge purposely put on record and gave me a copy of to carry in my car - the circuit clerk told me they had never seen anything like it. And that was just 6 years ago - and all I paid in fines was 1600.00 - no lawyer fees, no drunk driving school - nothing - I went to therapy for 12 step but that was paid for by employer health insurance. Even the judge said he had never seen a deal cut like mine, especially without an attorney.
But, no mater what, you are still able to drive til you go to court and plead -
