I'm filled divorce.Need a lot of advice.

I am Japanese who married with American for 13 yes. My husband filled divorce last WED and it was big shock to me.
I know why he did it because my gumbling problem. I know it is big problem to destroy marriage. However,I've received abuse of mental and dipressed badly for long time.
I told him that I do not want to divorce and I do not have energy to make actions or think positive for first hearing.(oct.29.09)
I am just keep trying to talk to him to avoid.
Is this making my situation worse?
Bank account are separated and I do not have money to hire attorny.
Need big help.

Not sure what anyone here can tell you to do. You cannot force him to remain married to you. If he wants a divorce you cannot stop him, if he is intent upon divorcing you. Perhaps taking steps to demonstrate you are willing to stop gambling will help delay the process. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you-----besides it doesn't make sense to allege he abused you and you became depressed when the point of your entire posting is you want to stay married to him...........an ABUSER? That doesn't ring true.
