I've lived in TN for almost 2 years, he lives in jail in LA

My husband lives in LA (that's louisiana, not los angeles) and is in jail, has been for a couple years. After he went to jail I lost everything: house, vehicle, personal possessions, even most of my clothes. I went to TN cause that's where i lived most of my life and needed help from friends and family.

I have since found a new love interest that treats me really good and my life has made a complete turn around. I don't have the money for a lawyer, especially in a cross country divorce situation. I could really use some advice on how to get a divorce from him.

Since being separated from him for so long I have come to realize that he mistreated me and border line mentally abused me. When he gets out I don't want him to have anything he can hold over my head. It's not so much that I want to jump into another marriage with my new guy, but maybe some day. I just really want to sever ties with the man that left me to live in jail.
