this kinda pertains to a divorce

my friend has been married almost 4 years and due to the actions of her husband and his family she has been involved with dss for pretty much the whole 4 years she has 2 children the problem she is having now is he was being investigated for a bruise on one of the kids faces and due to that she had to go to parenting classes dss is telling her that she has to go to marriage counsling and will not close the case until she works out her problems with him and decides to stay with him and not go through with a divorce how is that possible the case worker is telling her that if she is only there for her kids she needs to leave and not worry about them no more she is afraid to leave and take the kids with her because of the case still being open cause she dont want there to be any possibility of her losing the kids please give me some advice that I can give her on what to do
