My soon-to-be ex-husband is active duty in the Army. He's taken my daughter to Germany with him where he is stationed. I have very deep concerns abou this because he didn't show any interest in her for the almost 11 months that I raised her by myself. He never called, never sent us money, showed no interest in her at all while I was still pregnant even. He didn't care about her at all until he found out that an old boyfriend of mine had moved back to town. I'm very confused what my rights are given my unusual circumstances. Any information anyone can provide me is so greatly appreciated.

I think that's part of my complications. We aren't divorced yet. I'm not sure if we are even legally separated. I was told by my old attorney that I couldn't not try to fight my ex for custody until the divorce was final and/or the state lost jurisdiction. I found out today that the state doesn't lose jurisdiction ever (so now I look like I've been twiddling my thumbs for the past six months, not tearing my hair out) and that I should've filed for custody even maybe BEFORE he took her.
