income earned in community property state

My wife and I were married in New Hampshire and lived in Connecticut for many years. We filed for divorce in March 2005 at which time I moved to Texas and my wife remained in Connecticut. I earned money from employment in Texas beginning in March 2005. Our divorce became final in August 2005 under Connecticut law. Is my Texas income considered community property under Texas law or for purposes of federal tax?

I would guess that Connecticut law would apply instead of Texas law. It would be Connecticut that would determine whether wages earned after separation are considered community. Most states will look at date of separation to determine what assets are what.
