Unhappy Help!

Help. My pro-se attorney (a judge appointed me) will not help me file divorce papers. She said since she is not getting paid my spouse's attorney must file the decree. He hasnt and this has been going on for over a year. His attorney is stating that he cannot get in contact with my husband. I gave my attorney his contact info and she gave to his attorney. I see my spouse every other week when he visits the kids. I ask him if his attorney has tried to reach him and he says no. I know he's lying and doesn't want the divorce. I don't know what to do. I am depressed because I can't move on with my life and no one will help me. I cant afford an attorney because I am out of work. When I ask my pro se attorney for status on the case she told me that she is on vacation this week. Also that my spouses attorney may withdrawl cause he cannot get in contact with my ex and she is waiting for that. Should I believe her? Or try to seek help from a legal aid program. I dont want to upset the judge by appearing in court without a lawyer.

Wow. Find legal aid and find it fast! You have an attorney that is definitely after the money. If you must go to court without your attorney, tell the judge everything you wrote here and ask him if he could appoint someone else or if there is a way to do it without your attorney.

Yes, as my name suggests, I am not a professional. But I am not ridiculously naive either. It doesn't take an expert to wonder about the situation at hand.

A thought had just occurred to me. Would it be possible that she is working with your husband and his attorney? Since you are not paying her, is it possible that she is working with someone who is?

I think she may be working with my ex attorney. I have completed the divorce papers and will turn them in myself. Thanks for your advice.
