Wheel off after Tire Rotation
Hi,
last november I had my tires rotated at a local auto repair ship chain. Few days later, I was on the hwy & my wheel came off. Not just the tire, the whole wheel. I did not use vehicle over a few days, btw. I was lucky, I was able to get vehicle over to the side of the road. My injuries appeared minor at the beginning but manifested into numbness, weakness in my arms and then my legs. Now I drag my legs, and they tell me I have an unusual gait.etc. I started having tremors, also. Anyway, I have a question: No fault just began sending me paychecks to cover my employement pay. They sent 1 check for Dec & Jan. They contacted me last week to tell me they require a letter of disability each month before they cut the check. I am currently unable to drive, but managed to get a copy to insurance company last week. My atty had spoken to no fault rep around this time about problems with invoices being paid thru no fault, and a situation where I rejected by a facility for a brain MRI, because no fault did not pay other MRI bills prior. Anyway, no fault rep told me it is standard operating procedure to have a letter of disabililty provided each month before check is cut. This I understand, but what I dont understand was my atty stating he was not aware of this. Is this standard? If so, is it my responsibility to process this monthly? Or should his staff be doing this for me? Also, he is asking me to contact each dtr to call him regarding the insurance problems regarding payment when I see them? Maybe its me. Everyone tells me its my job to just rest up and get better. But I seem to have to be constantly putting out fires. I am without an income this month because i was not aware no fault required this form. Right now I am just wondering if I have made a bad choice in an atty, or will I run into this with all attys out there because its a contingency case? Hope this makes sense......
