Default Not sure which area of legal forum I need!

Good Morning,

I wanted to find a local lawyer to talk to and see what my best options are but I am unsure what area on the lawyer match I need to go to.
I went to a local Jiffy Lube and they upsold me a service, charged me for another one I didn't ask for and then broke a piece on my truck and duct taped it and never told me and sent me on my way. Within 10 minutes of leaving my power breaks failed and a vacuum leak happened in the engine and a high pitch whining noise. I barely made it back to the shop. I was so upset, my ankles hurt from stomping on the breaks for 3 blocks to get my pick up to stop and my blood pressure skyrocketed and I just missed going into oncoming traffic and getting killed. They jimmy rigged a part, said it would hold and their only response was yeah we saw the duct tape and didn't realize one of our guys put it on there. I have the parts they put on temporarily and an affidavit from the repair shop I had to take it to, to order the part they broke off. I am so mad, they could have killed me and they didn't even appoligize. I have tried to call corporate and they say they will call back but 1 and 1/2 weeks and they keep saying they are sending a message to the district managers and no one is calling me back. I have no idea what type of lawyer I would need to talk to.

Can someone point me in the right direction please??

Thanks,
Cindy Joyce

How much money do you think all this will cost you (i.e. to put the truck back to the state it was in before you brought it to the shop). This will determine what type of lawyer you will need if any.

Thanks for the reply. The repair only cost 20 dollars cause the shop did me a favor and didn't charge me anything but the part. it had to be special ordered from the dealer and took 4 days to get back in the truck. I probably spend 300 in transportation for the 4 days since I could not cancell appointments or meetings. The monitary is under 1k. The loss of my brakes in rush hour during a rain storm scared the crap out of me and I am still have 2 sore ankles from having to use so much force to stop the truck when they went out. So the problem is monitary is low but they treated me like it was no biggy they purposely damaged it adn admited that was dangerous and I could have been killed with the truck like that and didn't want to tell me unless I found it. There has to be some recourse to make them pay for purposely damaging it and not warning me of the danger.

Sounds like no attorney necessary. I don't know if one would even take the case based on the money you are out.

Sue them in small claims court.
