I was placed on felony probation in July,2006, in Reno, NV. I have completed all mandates, and been in compliance since being placed on probation. What would be my earliest release date, based on the early release/w/compliance laws? (I was told that the term of probation would be reduced by 20 days for every month of compliance)Thank You.

I'm serious. This is a legal forum, not a math class.
You posted a MATH EQUATION. Twenty days off for every month of compliance---you said you have been in compliance from July 06 until now- Can you COUNT how many months that is? Something tells me you won't get it right. How does 21 months sound? About right? Good. Now, multiply that number by TWENTY. That tells you how much TIME you GET OFF for being in compliance. You CAN multiply 21 by 20, can't you? Wait, nevermind. Its 420. 365 days in a year, plus 55 days more, is approximately two more months ( give or take a few). How does approximately 14 months sound. That being said, I would not rely on the information you provided for this little math equation. Anyone that cannot figure out how to count and multiply very well may be mistaken about a much more serious issue---the terms of probation. I'd contact my probation officer post haste. I will keep up the good work--its a luxury afforded those of us who AREN'T on probation. Last edited by GentleGrace : 04-09-2008 at 10:16 PM. |

What a combination, compassion and a knowledge of the legal system. I don't understand why people speak of attorneys' as they do. However I can certainly see why you go by "gentlegrace". As far us on probation, well we all can't be perfect like you. As far as the math goes "gentlegrace", I figured it out long ago, yet was naive enought to think someone out there would maybe confirm what I already believed. FO

But, you didn't ask for legal information, you asked for a math equation to be solved for you. Of course, although you "knew" the answer ( cough cough ) you never posted YOUR calculations and asked if anyone agreed, which would have, by the way, demonstrated at least a passing interest in and understanding of your current, er, "legal status". As I said, I wouldn't rely on ANY calculations. I would get it straight from the person who is HIRED and PAID to do these calculations---your parole officer. Have you met Jack? No. I don't think you know Jack. Surely not. Tall guy, brown eyes? Nevermind. |

"hater", that label would only apply to someone such as yourself. I posted an honest request that you chose to look down your nose on. You jumped all over an honest, innocent request for some help. As far as your reference to "Jack", you just further confirmed my opionion of you. Why you are so angry, nevermind, I really don't care. If my request was deemed unimportant by you, then don't respond. By the way "gentlegrace", I have asked my Probation officer(I've never been to prison, thereby never having a Parole officer) and in the five or six times I have asked my five or six different Probation officers, I have received just as many different responses. Furthermore, my public defender who himself recommended I call him with any questions, has never returned even one of my calls. I was raised to be respectful, and whenever possible, helpful. You are no better, no more intelligent than the next person. Save your anger for someone deserving, YOU.

I am not angry, dear. I am amazed. How in the world is it MY responsibility that your phone calls aren't being returned? When they aren't returned you take it a step further--and SHOW UP in PERSON. And sit and WAIT. Or, send a registered letter asking for your question to be answered in writing. My point is--and try to focus---YOU need to be proactive in making certain that the information in your little math equation is correct or you could land up in jail. A lot is at stake---why anyone here, including myself would know the answer to your original question is beyond me. In every posting, I have answered your question. I did the math for you, I suggested you contact the proper person to protect YOURSELF ( none of this does ME any good----I am attempting to keep YOUR , er, SELF out of jail, Skipper). The only way to do that is to get it in writing. Go in person. To straight to the person who has the authority to tell you. And don't take no for an answer. I never said I was better. I never said I was more intelligent than anyone. But I am smart enough to do a simple math equation and I am smart enough to avoid criminal charges during my long 42 years on earth. That, dear, is more than some folks--wouldn't you agree? <pointed look> Bottom line----(you don't have to LIKE me to benefit from the correct answer to your question )----Stop talking to five or six PROBATION officers. They don't have the authority to introduce you to JACK. Got it? Go to the public defenders office and SIT there until he sees you. And get your questions answered in writing. Don't leave until he does it. THEN, you will have met JACK. Understand? I wouldn't depend on an answer from ANY other place--including my OWN. Do it, or don't do it. It doesn't matter to me. It isn't MY, er---SELF on the proverbial line. |
